Festivals and Events

Plymouth City - Festivals
Last Updated on Friday, 16 September 2011 18:15

Plymouth is one the few cities in the UK with a purpose built events and festival space - The Piazza.

Part of the main pedestrian route through the heart of the city (Armada Way) which runs from North Cross (the train station) to Plymouth Hoe, the Piazza is located between the Sun Dial and Royal Parade. The permanent big screen is often a central feature of an event, the festival space is very versatile and can be set up in many styles.

Events at Plymouth Piazza

The Piazza is where Pride in Plymouth held the flash mob style Kiss-in as part of the Great Global Kiss in project for International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia May 17th 2010. We returned to the Piazza in 2011 to raise awareness of IDAHOT and encourage people to pledge support for the Equal Love Campaign. View the 2011 images and video here.
